Charles “Gary” Sproule, III founded SMC Industries, Inc. (previously Sproule Manufacturing Company, Inc.) in 1976. Since the company’s inception, Gary has developed Reinforced Perlite Pipe Covering, Molded Perlite Fitting Covers, Pressed Aluminum Elbows, PVC Cut & Curl Jacketing, and Precision Cut Aerogel.

Gary graduated from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts. He and his wife Debbie were married in 1978 and have two children, Courtney and Chad (Charles Sproule, IV). In his spare time, Gary’s enjoys skiing, golf, and trips to the Caribbean. 

Serving as an advisor to SMC management since 2013, Charles “Chad” Sproule joined SMC as Vice President in 2018. Chad recently served as Chief Operating Officer of medevac services company AeroMD and as partner in Tarheel Equity, a consulting and investment firm specializing in life sciences entrepreneurship.  Prior, Chad performed research and development on innovative hemostasis and resuscitation technologies at Durham, NC firm Entegrion and with the University of North Carolina’s Resuscitation Research Group.

A University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill alumnus and former firefighter and EMT, Chad now resides in Houston, TX. 

Bringing nearly a decade of sales and business development experience, Brandon develops SMC’s strategic industry partnerships.  Drawling on his background in the oil and gas industry, he works closely with facilities, engineers, and contractors to ensure SMC is best meeting today’s industry needs.  Brandon specializes in sales of our line of precision fabricated hydrophobic blankets.

A Baylor undergrad, Brandon holds an MBA in Energy Leadership from Texas A&M - Texarkana.  He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Catherine, sons Ben and Cameron, and their three dogs. 

Anita has been assisting SMC customers since 2014.  She helps clients place orders and coordinates with SMC’s production and shipping supervisors to ensure orders are filled on time and shipped as promised. 

Joining the team in 2016, Becca brings eight years’ experience in shipping & receiving and over a decade of customer service.

Becca is the mother of two girls and, while they reside in Baytown, TX, she became a Steelers fan growing up in northern Ohio.  When not assisting customers at SMC, Becca is shuttling her girls between gymnastics practice and school events.
